It’s September link inspiration time! And this month’s instalment is a little different. It’s a bit more short and sweet than usual, and the reason for that can be found in the first link that I share with you.

The second different is that not all of the shares this month are links, a good read from the print realm has made it in there too!

Beautiful 2016 planners

I am a self confessed stationery geek. It is the very reason that today’s post instalment is short and sweet, because I spent the time that I should have been using writing it, scouring the internet for a 2016 planner.

I should also confess that this is a planner in addition to the 2016 diary I already have. And I also got sidetracked hunting for a travel journal to document my recent and upcoming travels.

So you can see I am more than a little obsessed.

If you are on the hunt for the perfect paper pretty to feed the stationery geek in you, I highly recommend The Paper Parlour.

J.K. Rowling ‘The Fringe Benefits of Failure, and the Importance of Imagination’

I actually stumbled across J. K Rowling’s speech to Harvard graduates when I was roaming the heavenly Shakespeare and Company bookstore in Paris (you can read my full report on the trip to Paris here). It has actually been made into a rather beautiful book.

But it is the words that are important, rather than the presentation, and you can read the full text here. I highly recommend that you do, it will both change and reinforce the way that you look at Harry Potter, the role of failure in your life and your own opinion on what you can achieve.

36 hours in europe

I’ve got the travelling bug after my recent trips away…but next year is going to be a busy one, so I think we will have to condense many of our trips down to weekend breaks. When I saw that the New York Times has produced a ’36 hours in’ series, I knew it would be integral for some city break planning.

I’ve bagged myself the 36 hours in Europe edition. But the America and Canada version is high on my wish list too, it strikes me as the perfect companion to a road trip across America!
